VeriDAS

VERIFICATION OF DEFENSIVE AIDS SYSTEM
The SPHEREA VeriDAS End-to-End test system provides confirmation of mission readiness and operational capability through rapid yet exhaustive on-aircraft testing of the self protection systems.

COMPREHENSIVE
SYSTEM TEST

VeriDAS tests not only the individual self protection equipment, complementary to any system built-in test capability, but more importantly it confirms end-ta-end system functionality thus ensuring that any potential cable faults or degradations are identified. Successive Stimulation of the Missile Launch Detection System {MLDS}, Laser Warning Receiver {LWR} and Radar Warning Receiver {RWR} sensor under computer control ensures that all the important threats are simulated.

The correct reaction of the DAS system is then easily verified by reading out the bus system information, monitaring acoustic and displaying optical warnings. Furthermore, this type of system can ensure the functionality of countermeasures, such as Chaff and Flare dispensers, by replacing them with a suitable payload simulator which tests the ejection performance in automatic, semi-automatic and manual mode.

Ease of Use

VeriDAS is particularly easy to set up and use. The control interface on the ruggedized tablet computer uses the proven SPHEREA Universal Test and Maintenance Management System {UTMS} software already widely in use on major defence projects.

MODULARITY PROVIDES
HIGH DEGREE OF FLEXIBILITY

The VeriDAS Central Measurement Unit uses standard commercial off-the-shelf test equipment to provide the most cost effective measurement solution. The modular approach is particular flexible in order to be able to adapt to changes in system requirements or to different platforms. Additional interfaces or measurement resources can be easily integrated into the system.

RELIABLE AND
REPRODUCTABLE MEASUREMENTS

VeriDAS provides high-integrity test results by directly connecting to all the defensive aids systms. This light- and RF-tight adaptation method ensures repeatable sensitivity measurements thus providing reliable indication of sensor degradation. The Optical Threat Generator Flight Line Tester is used to test the Iaser warning receiver by stimulating the sensors with a Iaser threat from various directions over a 180 degree field of view and successively at low-band, mid-band and highland wavelengths. Threat indication is confirmed by reading the data oft the Milbus . SPHEREA Flight Line Testers, already in sercive as stand-alone test systems on several platforms, are used to provide Stimulation for optical tests under control from the VeriDAS system cantroll er.

The Ultra Vialet Stimulator Flight Line Tester verifies the missile launch detection system performance in recognizing threats by stimulating its sensor units with UV light under different angles of incidence. VeriDAS checks the azimuth and elevation of the detected alarm and the sensitivity of the sensor. The RF Signal Generator inside the VeriDAS Central Measurement Unit provides the necessary CW and pulse signals required to test the radar warning receiver via an antenna attached directly to the sensor.

For testing the countermeasures system the SPHEREA Chaff Flare Dispenser Payload Simulator is inserted into the Cartridge Dispenser Modules {CDM} instead of chaff or flare magazines. Tests such as fire, misfire and zerovaltage are performed automatically on each CDM.
